Pedro Martínez Foundation to Open New Library, Expanding Educational Opportunities in the Dominican Republic

The Pedro Martínez Foundation has been awarded a $350,000 grant from the Red Sox Foundation to build a new library as part of its Community & Health Center in Manoguayabo, Dominican Republic.
This new facility will offer more than just books, it will provide a vibrant, inclusive space designed to foster learning and growth for over 1,700 students. With inviting reading areas, computer access, and collaborative study spaces, the library will support literacy development, digital skills training, and educational advancement for children, teens, and the wider community.
For many families in Manoguayabo, this will be their first opportunity to regularly access a modern library environment, a game-changer for academic success and lifelong learning.
The Pedro Martínez Foundation is committed to empowering under-resourced youth through education, health programs, and sports. Its Community & Health Center will include classrooms, a cafeteria, sports courts, dental offices, multipurpose rooms, a nursery, and computer labs.
The addition of a fully equipped library marks the next step in expanding access to essential resources and opportunities for local families.
