Baseball stars, Boston legends and other celebrities attend 6th annual Pedro Martinez Foundation gala
BOSTON —
A Boston Red Sox legend spent Friday night giving back at the 6th annual gala for the Pedro Martinez Foundation.
From baseball stars to Boston legends, for those in attendance, it's all about giving back to the kids and communities that need it most.
"They don't really have to twist our arm to come back here and support it," Corey Kluber of the Tampa Bay Rays said.
"What they've been doing for our country, it means a lot for us," San Diego Padres slugger Juan Soto said.
The Pedro Martinez Foundation gala draws a star-studded crowd every year, raising money to provide access to education, athletics and health services to kids and communities both here in the United States and in the Dominican Republic.
"It's really a good opportunity for us to lend our voices, our support and just help make a change that they like," former Red Sox catcher Jason Varitek said.
WCVB's Maria Stephanos acted as master of ceremonies for the event.
